For this, the final week of Huron Feathers Day Camp, our theme is MYSTERY, because honestly, by now who knows what's going to happen this week?! We do know that we'll be welcoming new story-tellers Faith and David to our camps and that things might get a little wet.....

PARENTS!!! Here are some important things you should know:
First, we will be having a water fight this week. While we haven't quite figured out the details yet, be forewarned (don't worry, we'll tell you the day before so you can send your kids dressed appropriately).

Second, T-shirts are on sale. The shirts feature a superhero logo on the front with the words "Mighty To Save" printed inside and this summer's theme verse Zephaniah 3:17 printed on the back.

And finally: Our last day of camp is this Friday August 26. Following camp we'll be having a family barbecue complete with some games, some great food and some time to say farewell.

S.U.P.E.R.H.E.R.O

This week's theme is SUPER HERO!!!!! We'll be using this theme in story, games and craft while also sharing our theme verse for the summer which comes from Zephaniah 3:17 "The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."

This week does mark our second to last week of camps. We're sad the summer is coming to a close, but we still have some awesome events planned.
This Wednesday August 17th will be our second and final sleepover. We'll have a campfire, a movie, and some fun games. The evening starts at 7:00 and goes right until the start of camp the next morning, which kids are more than welcome to stay for. We WILL be running regular programming on the 18th so even if your child doesn't come to sleepover, they are always welcome at camp from 9-12. There is no charge for the sleepover, but we will be accepting donations which will go towards the purchasing of craft supplies, snacks, and toys/sporting equipment for games.
Also note:
NEXT WEEK is our FINAL WEEK of camp.
We will be having an end of summer bbq celebration following day camp, to which family, friends and neighbours are invited.

Armor of God

This week's daycamp theme is the Armor of God. We'll be embracing this theme in story, craft and games at camp all week. Also this week, we are having a FAMILY FRIDAY. Family is invited to stay after camp for a brief overview of the week at camp as well as an opportunity to talk with day camp staff, volunteers and Huron Feathers summer director Ted Creen.
An advanced heads up that next week is our second last week of camp and we will be having a sleepover Wednesday August 17th.
The week after that will be our last week of camp and we'll be ending with a celebration following camp on Friday August 26th. Stay tuned for more details.
Finally, please note that we have this year's t-shirts for sale. Kids sizes are $15 and adult sizes $17. The front of the shirt is a logo with "Mighty To Save" written inside while the back is this year's theme verse.

AROUND THE WORLD...in 5 days

This week's day camp theme will be "Around the World". We'll be doing crafts and stories focusing on the different corners of the world. This week is of special interest to the staff as we come from different parts of Ontario, Michigan and even Slovenia!

Also, remember that our t-shirts are in and are going fast. Shirts feature our theme verse for the summer and a fun design on the front highlighting the "Mighty To Save" part of this verse. Kids shirts are $15 and adult sizes $17.

BEACH BASH!!!!

This week's day camp theme is BEACH BASH!!! There will be the usual daily beach time as well as beach-themed crafts and games. We're hoping to have a wet and watery day if the weather allows and Friday will be parents day when parents are welcome to join us for a peek into day camps.

please note that our t-shirt order has arrived at last! This summer's theme is Mighty To Save and is clearly illustrated on the front of the shirt with the bible verse from Zephaniah on the back.
Child and Youth shirts are selling for $15 and Adult shirts for $17.

IT'S CHRISTMAS!

Our third week of camps is Christmas in July!!!!
Camps will be running as normal all week, with the added bonus of a SLEEPOVER!!!!!

Here's some details about our Christmas eve sleepover:
Children can be brought to the centre for 7:00 pm on Wednesday July 20.
There will be a talent show portion that parents are invited to stay and watch.
We will also have a camp fire and a movie as well as games to play together!
In the morning we will enjoy a breakfast of pancakes and oranges prepared by our staff. Following the sleepover kids will stay at the centre for day camp on Thursday.
Children can be picked up at 12:00 on Thursday.

Note: Day camp will run as normal on Thursday so children who do not attend the sleepover are welcome at camp on Thursday at 9 am.

DAY CAMPS 2011

Day Camps 2011 are coming soon!!!!!

We'll be kicking off camps on July 4th!
Camps are Mon-Fri from 9-12 AM for kids aged 5-12. The cost is $4/day or $15/week.
Each day of camp includes songs, stories, games and crafts!
The week of July 4-8 our theme will be The Fruit of the Spirit.
Week two will be God's Wonderful World as we explore the elements of God's creation!
The third week will be Christmas in July and after that even more fun with never-before-seen themes as we enjoy a total of 8 weeks of camps!

2010 review:
Day Camp has finished for the season. We hosted over 160 different campers throughout the summer, with an average of 31 per day. We enjoyed eight weeks of ga ga ball, "Wide Game Wednesdays", Sleepovers and Family Fridays. Our year wrapped up with a Family Picnic that was attended by over 60 campers and family members. Hope to see you all next year!

Day Camp General Information:

Ages 5 - 12. (Campers must be five years old at the time of camp. If children are not yet five years old, they may attend if a parent is able to stay with them for the entire morning.)

Day Camp begins each day at 9:00 a.m. and goes until noon.

Cost is $4 / day or $15 for the week. Family rates are also available.

Each morning includes songs, crafts, games, a Bible story as well as beach time!

Swimming, soccer and sandcastle building are the three activities that are typically offered during beach time. Swimming is supervised by two certified lifeguards and takes place within a buoy-line that is set into the lake each morning by our staff.
